One Proud Mama

When we bought our current house we were happy to discover the backyard was loaded with fruit trees! We have avocados by the hundreds, Chinese grapefruit or pomelos, persimmons (sadly the squirrels eat these before we ever get to them) and even a banana tree! Our 5 year old Brennan has been begging to have a fruit stand for quite some time so today we let the kids set up shot on our street!

We started in our driveway and daddy made them some super cool signs! Then we moved down to the corner to pick up more customers! Our customers ranged from our very sweet neighbors, to people driving by, to others out walking their dogs and even a limo driver on his way to pick up clients!

Believe it or not they raked in over $50 in less than 2 hours!!!  Not too shabby I tell ya!! When I asked Brennan what he was going to do with his money he told me he wanted to give it to the orphans who didn't have the things he did! Melt my heart why don't ya kid! So when we closed up shop I told him he could choose a child from the New Horizons for Children photolisting and we could place a $50 hosting scholarship on whichever child he chose!

Who did he choose you ask?? Drum roll please...meet Nastya!

Brennan and Kaelyn had the privilege of meeting and playing with Nastya this winter when she was hosted right here in our hometown by friends of ours! She is just adorable!! And I wasn't surprised at all when he chose her, the kid is kind of girl crazy! He knows a cute girl when he sees one and Nastya is about as cute as they come! With personality to boot!

$50 has been added to sweet Nastya's scholarship fund! Anyone want to match Brennan and Kaelyn's donation??? All donations are tax deductible and can be made securely online via our PayPal Link (just be sure and make a note that your donation is for a scholarship for Nastya E194)!!

Or better yet does anyone want to host her this summer??? Fill out a pre-application and your regional coordinator will contact you!!

Trust me when I tell you hosting is an experience your whole family will GROW FROM!! Isn't a 5 year old willingly giving up the $50 he just earned proof enough???
