Random Acts - Day 9

Today we were flexible!

We were supposed to...

But between church, lunch out with friends, naps and then a fun evening activity we just didn't have time to complete this task. Peter wanted me to just let it go and double up tomorrow, but I was determined to find something that we could still do!

So we decided to...

Because a busy day definitely calls for a "drive-thru" dinner! Can I get an "amen"? So we cruised on over to the closest In-N-Out and hopped in line!

This was my attempt to take a picture of the car behind us, I got the tippy top. Then Peter declared me a "creeper" and said the lady would think I was weird. Oddly enough, he changed his tune when he realized the guy behind this lady was actually wearing a full on creepy Halloween mask...thanks dude, you are now the "creeper" and not me:)  And anyhow, this "creeper" just bought her dinner so I figured she'd forgive me! Merry Christmas!

The kids were stoked to get dinner and a movie in the car and we were still able to bless someone today despite our busy schedules! Life is good!

We also found time to Journey To Bethlehem today! We've taken the kids to something called the "Walk Thru Bethlehem" at a local church every Christmas since birth. It's always been one of the highlights of our Christmas activities and this year I was more than a little disappointed to learn that it wasn't going to be happening. Basically it's a cross between a live Nativity scene and an interactive play! It's awesome and such a great learning experience for the kids to see how people dressed, what they ate and experience what life was like as Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem to take the census and ultimately give birth to baby Jesus. Thankfully some friends from church invited us to join them at another church doing something very similar and we had a blast.

Here's Brennan with one of the many Roman soldiers trolling the grounds. These guys don't mess around and all three girls were terrified of them!

Brennan signing his name on the census.

We had a great time experiencing this "new" Bethlehem with several church friends and we'll definitely be back next year!!

Tomorrow we will...

This one is SO Brennan. He's trash obsessed! Literally! It's right up his alley!
